Go. Ni. Dandekar is one of the most published, popular and well crafted authors in Marathi literatures. His major areas of work were travelogues, in which he described and enlightened the real historical and cultural wealth of Maharashtra i.e. network of forts in Maharashtra. He also authored books centered on old Marathi culture in villages of Konkan, biographies of famous Marathi poet-saints, as well historical and social novels.

“Ranbhuli” is one such book, where one of the most prominent forts in Maharashtra’s history and culture Raigad is used almost as one of the character in the book. The book is about a girl who is full of life. And who is in so much in love with the fort and her village that she couldn’t live anywhere else. When she got married and has to move away she keeps coming back. When she is forced to move to the city she could not cope up with it, it was like life was sucked up out of her.

I think this is a must read book and if I have to rate it I will give 10 out of 10.
